Should the Gunfighter be making a hard stop at the end of the axis? (RESOLVED)

Postby Ballantine » Mon Jan 27, 2020 9:31

Hi there flight enthusiasts.

I currently have 2 Gunfighter Mk. 3s set up with 10cm extensions, soft center space cams and #50 springs.
On the left stick when I pull the stick fully in any direction it makes a hard stop with a nice thunking sound. On the right stick, particularly on the Y axis, when I reach the end of the axis I get a resistance and the stick will not max out without effort and make that thunking noise.
I was wondering which one of these behaviors was "normal" for the soft center linear cams, and what I might have set up wrong or need to adjust? I was considering the dry clutch as I haven't really adjusted that yet and am not 100% as to how that works.
Any input you might have would be greatly appreciated.

The only normal behavior for a GunFighter base is a smooth drive from the center to the end of the axis range, no matter the axes, cams or springs involved.
Open up your bases and check if on the 'bad' one the screws securing the cams are in the same way as in the 'good' one. Posting photos with the 'bad' base opened would help. Also a video with the issue.

That was 100% the issue! I must have pushed the dust guard down while getting the #50 springs seated. I feel especially dumb cause I actually read that post the other day before I noticed the issue with my stick but it didn't register.

Thanks very much for the timely assistance. Y'all are wonderful.
