Base to black box cable connector specs?

Postby bolek » Wed Dec 11, 2019 6:36

What exactly are the connectors used on the cable from the GFII/III base to the black box? It looks like an aviation GX12 or GX16? Is it 4-pin?

Thanks

Yes, this is the GX12 4pin and 6pin.

Thank you. But what what do you mean 4-pin or 6-pin? Are there two different kinds? I do not have the GF yet so I cannot look :)

I am asking because I want to make custom length cable. Do I need 2 GX12 4-pin female connectors? Is that correct?

Thanks

Two species are present on the BlackBox. The difference is only in the location. On orange at an angle of 90 degrees.

Where are you located? I've swapped out one of my cables for a purchased longer one already, and would be willing to possibly mail you the original shorter one, in the event you can re-use the existing connectors and re-do the internal wiring yourself (I'm in the US, in TX).

Thank you for the offer, that's very generous. But I am still undecided on what I want and I would hate to take you up on your offer and then not make use it :( .

Does the cable have 4-pin connectors on both ends or is it one 4-pin and one 6-pin? Also, how long is the standard cable that comes with GF?

Sorry for slow reply - the short spare I have is 4-pin (female holes) both ends. It's specified as 25cm (The longer replacements offered are 50cm and 75cm.) I confess I have not measured if this includes the connector bodies or is just the 'cable' length itself.
