Is the original Gladiator Pro a dead end base?

Postby kverdon » Sun Nov 17, 2019 6:39

I have one of the original Gladiator Pro joystick and bases. Is this a dead end system? I have seen upgrade kits for the original Gladiator non pro but not for the Gladiator pros. Is there anything that can be done to make the original Gladiator Pro compatible with the new sticks (MCG etc)?

I'm in the same boat, and I think, sadly, yes. We just got screwed on upgrade timing. They went to a new handle wiring system soon after it was released, and I don't think enough Gladiator Pros were released for it to be cost effective.

Sucks, but it is what it is. Potentially you could sell you Gladiator Pro and buy one the newer sticks.

When writing a message, try to be more accurate and informative. This will facilitate technical support.
What version of GL are you talking about? What rod do you have?

Hang on, how can you facilitate technical support on something that is a matter of straight physical incompatibility? The original (MK1) Gladiator Pros have a 5 wire connector like the original Gladiators. Unlike the original Gladiators, the Pros never had a 5pin to 3 pin adaptor released to allow use of the newer 3 pin grips.

Would dearly love to be proven wrong though as a MK1 owner.

We have only MCG Pro grips for Gladiator Pro Mk1. Kosmosima grip is not compatible with Gl Pro 1.

Oh wow, so there was an 5-pin MCG made, or an adaptor?

That's great news then.

Great, thanks for the heads up. I stopped watching the US site as it always had outdated information and the Aliexpress store was suggested as the best place to keep up to date on releases.
