MKIV Pedals black box plastic?

I received my pedals today. I didn't receive the metal black box that I thought I ordered, but a plastic version with upside down USB connector.

The question is what ? This is a new design of a BlackBox with a button.

Aint this new "black box" (literally black now...) with a new circuitry so it is more capable than the "black box" (the orange aluminium one)?

I really loved the old metallic orange "Black Box". Looks really nice and trustworthy.
I guess the new one would contain better hardware and made of plastic to keep the costs down. Design-wise the old one beats it hands down, though
