GF MkII MCG: Center Mounting Height guide?

So, I received my Extension kit for my Gunfigher MkII MCG Pro, and I am wondering how high I should mount it.
Of course it is mounted in the center between my legs. And I think it's a bit low. And I was trying to look at pictures of real pilots in their cockpit to judge how high it should be. But is there any guide or suggestions on this?
I have measured it by putting a straight stick across my lap and measure how high the grip comes up 'above' the top of my legs. Right now it comes up to that lower/left light gray thumb hat that is on the left side of the stick. And when I move the stick left and right it seems too low.
How high have some of you mounted your stick? I'm thinking I need to bring it up about 1 - 1.5 inches.
