My finished rig.

The pedals are the icing on the cake. I'm thrilled with the quality and usability of them!

Nice! I like how clean it is. How is that seat for sitting several hours? I would need a back rest

It's very comfortable, I think that perspective doesn't give the height of the chair justice. I fly with a VRHMD so I opted out with using a bucket seat as to have more 'head room'.

oh yeah, that makes more sense. From the first picture it looked like a 6" backrest

All you need now is a gametrix seat rumble pad!

Nice little set up. Is that a PVC pipe stick extension?

Yes, heavy duty piping with 'FloPlast' connectors and bends. Extremely cheap but the matte black spray paint was my biggest dent in the whole stick budget!

Very nice! The old PVC pipe comes in handy. Who'd have thunk you can build a whole sim pit out of the stuff? But people have been doing so for years! I'm contemplating building one myself, but a more low and laid back style, so I'm sitting more like in a car. Or an F-16, for example. Many people build their pits this way. It looks much more comfortable than the traditional desk seating arrangement most of us are used to. I've just gotta find a design that will suit my limited space.

Need advice. Since I got VR and made joystick extension, my back started to hate me.
I found your rig today and it basically almost the same as what I planned to build - have a similar chair at home. Main difference from yours is that I want to put rudder pedals on 30 degrees incline. Are you comfortable with your legs on rudders in this position? When you play VR do you lean forward or does this setup allow you to sit firmly in your chair?

Technically I'm 16cm higher than the rudder base. Where my bum sits is 33cm off the carpeted floor and with the rudders heightened to 17cm (off the floor) on a box, that's a difference of 16cm, it's lower than most sport cars and aircraft I've driven and flown.

For me, it's extremely comfortable. I sit way back, and I have full yaw authority. I experimented with inclining them and found out it wasn't necessary as they felt fine flat, for me. I'd suggest experimenting yourself before you screw anything in place though.
