Centering Upgrade for the VKB-Sim Gladiator Mk.II

Postby Halleys_Trauma » Tue Feb 21, 2017 3:11

Thought I would post this link and this image for anyone else researching the New and improved VKB-Sim Gladiator Mk.II

The video really highlights the quality of this product. The dead zone issue was correctly diagnosed in this video and the image shows VKB's solution which looks spot on. The images on the right shows the fix

Just a few pointers here:

- Never calibrate your VKB devices using Windows Joystick Applet! If you did, you need to restore to the default from within Windows Joystick Applet! Only calibrate from within WIZZO or VKBdevCfg.

- In WIZZO, calibration requires to move all axes in their full range

- Also, what's your and VKB device firmware version?

Feel free to take a screenshot from your VKBDevCfg software >>> General page, and Profile page (need to see physical and logical axes)

The thing is the new center mechanism doesn't work properly, some times it center perfectly others not, it need more resistance because physically does not center perfect. There is a small swing in the y-axis, so If I left the joystick to center alone it doesn't do that because this swing...I think the spring mechanism should be present in both sides, not one.

It is necessary to unscrew the bottom plate and draw attention to the presence of the spring in its seats. Perhaps she fell accidentally? Video release handles extreme position will help identify the problem.
More can be changed in the physical axes MPL parameter of 10 to 9, and press the SET recalibrated.

I don't know if it fallen accidentally, but not from my part, It traveled a lot to reach my country so I don't really know if something happen in the travel, I will provide a video but its all related to design as I see, the second mk2 is not improved...
