Extension+Warthog Grip Spring Force

Postby SinusoidDelta » Wed May 18, 2016 2:10

Being my first post here I wanted to start off by saying how pleased I am with my Vintage Mamba. It's a true total quality product and a work of art to anyone with an engineering background or mindset.

My question is in regard to using the warthog adapter and extension. I've found the mass of the grip in addition to the large moment results in the stick being under-damped and having very low input force with the highest k spring (black ones). It seems obvious that adding an additional spring to each axis would counter this but a VKB owner on another forum damaged some components after doubling up the springs.

In light of seeing that, I wanted to confirm which springs (if any) could be added within the strength limits of the gimbal design. I'm currently not using the extension due to the lack of resistance negating the precision of the larger moment arm.

I do not recommend you to use more than one spring per axis.
Please, wait for Gunfighter joystick. This model was originally designed for use with extension.
