Ok this is what I have so far. I did not draw it but I can manipulate it in corel draw.

Thoughts?

Did some more tweaking in the mean time. Compacting the Aegis dynamics, enlarging the Aegis logo. Saved in a ver 14 CDR.

You can grab it here.

revision - little cleaner on Dynamics, I tried to clean up the M, but its not on the image here. So sue me I got a little lazy. Still might not work out.

Here.

Version 4: Dropped the 'dynamics' as it might be hard to print. Moved down Aegis, scaled up the Aegis logo.

Saved to a Ver 14 CDR which you can nab here.

Version 5: Logo Only scaled up as much as possible without going outside the lines.

You can grab it here.

I figure you have a matrix of options for it:
Logo
Logo + aegis text
Logo + full text
and any option Filled/Unfilled.

I need to grab a metric ruler and see how big 40 x 35 mm is.
Think the full text will even be readable?

Not terribly big. Trying to think of something for you for scale. Something off hand. A US quarter is 24.26 mm in diameter.

Fills cant be done. The machine only does the outline so I was told. That is why I posted a before and after previously. Still working on the Logo only option. Just takes a bit to scale, make a .png of the work, upload it etc.

I wonder if the Dynamics will have trouble. Anyway. Ill add logo only to the post above shortly. Might make dinner first though.

Can you make a simple outline of a super assistance or dbz logo? I asked Jason for help he said he could refer me to someone that charges $50....

I scaled and printed the full text to 40x35 mm. The dynamics text I don't think will come out well(especially outline only.)
looks like its Shuttle or Shuttle+Aegis
BTW you rock bro :D

Point me in a direction - Im not sure what you are talking about. Ill try though. Would help immensely if there is a vector logo already made.

Btw, I have only a week or two experience with corel working on my free 30 day trial. 13 days left :)

Thanks - I try.

I could also take the original vector and scale up the dynamics at the bottom. I can tell when I get up close the letters are hand drawn. See little wiggles in the lines. Scaling up would make those more pronounced, but I don't know if you would notice on 40x35mm.

PS. I tried to do Anvil Aerospace and.. well just no. I am an Aegis fan myself, but wanted to give anyone else an option. Unfortunately it is not to be.

But for fun, if you like it its here:

I moved the name up so the U doesn't cut off.

HAMG Nice! Probably stick with Aegis though just in case VKB makes a better stick someday and I get the itch rofl.

My last critique:
Possibly scale it down a little so its not so close to the outer ranges(etcher might not handle outer ranges as well?, Ill Ask the VKB guys tommarrow)
separate the icon and Aegis text a hair more?

Otherwise that is what I'm going with for my engraving. You use the same handle in game? I owe you an escort someday.

I verified nothing is colliding with the outside, everything is drawn inside the 40x35mm box, but it does get very close. The only way to get more separation between the logo and the text is to scale things down. So I did that too, slightly. 2%.

Ill scale it down more if you are worried about it regarding the engraving. Its a simple operation, more trouble to make a preview and upload it!

As far as the handle, Yes I am also Satyrn on RSI. I don't post much but feel free to add me to your contacts. It is good to have people you can call on.

Im first and foremost a fighter craft guy - not that I am any good in my own opinion, but it is so much fun! But if I need a hand escorting my wife's cargo ship I'll let you know. Feel free to do the same if you need someone on your wing!

Oh the terror of choice, but maybe the machine won't handle my avatar anyway

The land mass may be complicated as well, but an accurate representation is not very important.

However, that black mamba looks intricate. : P

True, but I am guessing the custom engraving is a different process, ie: no fills only lines and curves.

I think the fills are made into lines as well (at some point), but even if they use the same machine, it could be a time issue. The larger zone to engrave, the longer it would take, I guess.

In any case, I just sent them an email asking about that. Aesthetically I think there should be a fill, as the other logos rely on it, but just in case I made a simplified one (no fills, a lot fewer lines):

So the artwork that we send in had to look like a negative? What happens if I sent it in with just black lines for the drawing?

From my understanding you should send it in as a negative, i.e. with black lines for where it'll be white.

Yes, it's just pure black on the default background color (white).
