Swap twist axis with rudder pedals MCG Ultimate (twist) and Black Box V3

MCG Ultimate twist, black box V3 and t-rudder pedals
I understand there's a limit of 8 axis in Windows for each device. What I'm trying to do is "swap" the Z rotation from the twist on the mcg ultimate and instead have that axis be linked to the pedals. So that I have a single device and not the composite.
I had been reading that there was a "non twist" firmware but I think that is an old solution since the firmware now is a "unified" option. Right now VKB config sees the MCG ultimate as an HID composite device and everything works fine. Just not sure where to go to make the change. learning is hard!
