How to change the mb2 control on the STECS

Is there a proper way to remove and replace the mb2 control (in front right behind the trigger) on the STECS? When I tried to removed it by unscrewing the two screws, the wires does not have enough slack to safely detach from the control module. The control module barely clears the socket opening. Do I need to open something else? I watched the youtube video. It shows a different control module on the side of the throttle and the wires came out of the socket completely. Thanks.

You should be able to pull out about 1inch of cable, which would be enough for you to press on the side tab of the connector and release the switch.

hmm, maybe the wires got tangle inside or something. This is the max I can pull out. Is there anything I need to watch out for if I open up the handle housing?

Try jiggle a bit, maybe the cable is stuck inside, should definitely be longer than that. Can also use some needle pliers to press the tab and release the switch. Make sure you don't press too hard so the connector won't get damaged.

Thank you for your help. I ended up opening the housing and was able to pull the wires out. New module is in place and working perfectly.
