Using Mamba MkIII Grip on Black Mamba base after MCG Pro griip upgrade

SO...I damaged my 5 pin connector cable between the MCG pro grip and Mamba base, and am currently waiting for the replacement cable to be delivered.

I was wondering, In the meantime, is there any way I can use the old Mamba MKIII grip without having to undo the physical changes to the base internals?

I was hoping it might be possible to flash the firmware using __BlackMamba_v2_11_5.vkb from the legacy device firmware download. Would that 'just work'?

If so, could I then re flash back to __BlackMamba_MCG_Pro_v2_11_5.vkb when the cable comes through and I can fix the MCG Pro grip?

Could you please post a photo with the internals? How is the MCG grip connected?
