T-Rudder Pedals MK.VI - Question about assembly.

Hi all! I just received my new rudder pedals from VKB and am in the process of disassembling them to change the cam and spring tension settings. When flipping the pedals over to remove the cam assembly (I'm following this video tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4XyRHZKqsMc) I had two square nuts fall out of something on the top. I tried to find the nuts in the video tutorial, but I don't see them anywhere - I assume they are a recent addition.
Does anyone have any idea where these go? I've attached a photo for reference. I appreciate the help!
