How to lock rudder on original Gladiator?

Postby e32lover » Sat Jul 02, 2022 9:39

Hi,

I was wondering if it is possible to lock the twist axis on the original Gladiator?

I was trying to work out which Gladiator I have and I'm pretty sure it's the original.

There are instructions with pictures on how to lock it on the MK2 but mine doesn't seem to have the screw holes on the right hand side. Mine just has 2 screw holes at the base or the stick on the left hand side to hold the stick together.

Is there any way to lock the rudder on my stick?

Here is a pic that i found on the internet of the MK2, mine doesn't have these 3 screw holes on the right hand side, only 2 on the left.

Thanks for your advice!

Show a photo of your grip on the right side. Where and when was the joystick bought?

You need remove the palm rest - the two bolts in left side; for access the hole for put a screw that will lock the twist.

A 2mm OD screw (like the ones that fit palm rest) but with 15mm (length) - with no point (flat head); should lock.

I tried a 1.5cm screw but it felt like it wasn't quite long enough. It would almost lock it but with a small amount of force it would skip past the screw.

I'm going to go to the store tomorrow and try and find a longer screw.

Hi,

Thanks for your advice thus far, very much appreciated.

Unfortunately I have had a look everywhere, both online and at the shops and I can't for the life of me find the right size screw.

Any chance you can advise where I can buy the screw? I understand it is not official advice or anything.

Many thanks.
