Gladiator Change POV to key

Postby NuVen » Sun Nov 26, 2017 6:03

Screen shot of VKBDevCFg-C for POV 0 deg.

#1 and #2 are active when the cyclic mode switch is at the "dogfight" position.
#3 and #4 are active when the cyclic mode switch is at the "navigation" position.

I changed #1 44 to B auto 44, and #3 57 to B auto 57

When tested in VKBDevCFg
button 44 lights when "dogfight" and POV up is selected
button 22 lights when "dogfight" and pinkie shift + POV up is selected
button 57 lights when "navigation" and POV up is selected
button 58 lights when "navigation" and pinkie shift + POV up is selected

A similar process was used for all four POV directions (0, 90, 180, and 270), using the default button selections.

When I try to bind the keys in IL-2 BoS the wrong numbers are recorded. For instance, if shift POV Up/ shift POV Down are used for the propeller rpm, number 21 and 22 occur.

How should I set up the POV switch output key values?

I read in the forum, that IL-2 Sturmovik can accept up to 64 as a key input.
Can input key #44 be changed to a number greater than 64, so that the output keys are all less than or equal to 64?
If I understand correctly, a BX button is affected by the cyclic mode switch.

SHIFT1 is set to 56 when the mode is "dogfight" and outputs key 22
SHIFT1 is set to 58 when the mode is "navigation" and outputs key 26
SHIFT1 is the pinky shift button on the joystick.

The joystick is the plain Gladiator.

Please wait until Moscow time evening ))) No Gladiator under the hand at work(((

PS
Right now commontip. You have set up arrow HAT to B auto #. If you uncheck Auto, you can select any free line number for this control. It will be so called Logical line number. Windows and the game see right this number. By default it is the same with physical one (Auto checked). You canassign any number for your purposes.

Tested your settings. Il-2 bug((. Do not think that this is a feature. All button numbers are shifted up by one digit. Not only for Gladiator but for Mamba controller too.
If you uncheck Automapping you can assign any line number. I prefer to map buttons to keystrokes. So I do not think about line numbers and game restrictions.

Hi Victorus,

Thank you for manual translated into English.

I have set the output to be the virtual keyboard.
L_Shift + G is tail wheel lock/unlock and G is Gear up/down
Pressing the button for tail wheel lock/unlock raised the landing gear.

Section 2.4.9
"if you have mapped Ctrl+A combination to button, simulator randomly will process it right, i.e. Ctrl+A, or pure A. Dly parameter (milliseconds), resolves this issue. Value of 30 ms is recommended."

Where can I find the Dly parameter? I could not find this option in the "Button mapping wizard" when I configured the joystick.

Thank you.

It becomes available if you select nonOFF virtual keyboard mode.

The Global window in VKB NJoy32 Pro does not show that option on my software.

Try to use up-to date software https://cloud.mail.ru/public/8Gfy/eyzM3MuPG and firmware https://cloud.mail.ru/public/6Y9y/WofH6cx8A versions.
Add User=Developer string into section of zconfig.ini file, saved in the same folder with VKBDevCfg.exe.

I created a keyboard output configuration, but now the Gladiator LED lights will shut off and the stick is not longer connected.

After a restart from VKBDevCfg-C.exe, the Gladiator will disconnect.

These are the physical and logical configurations:

I have loaded 1.90c, mapped some buttons to keystrokes and my Gladiator works. Try to do the following.
Save your current profile (Save button)
Press Default button on Tools tab. This button is available if User=Developer)). It will reset joystick controller to factory conditions.
Please send your .cfg file zipped.

Strange enough, my Gladiator will not load and then stay active.
In the meantime, I set all the logical outputs for the POV to the numbers 1-16, and I am able to get this configuration to interface with BoS.

I will try the keyboard configuration, again, but it will not be until later this week.

The configuration that works is attached.

Thank you.

I did try to reload the configuration will all keyboard assignments, but after a short while the joystick will stop responding.

The Gladiator configuration functions when the POV actions are all pointed to buttons 1-16. The base buttons correspond to keyboard inputs. This is the configuration that I am using with good success.
