Usb c data cable from STECS to STEM
Is this a standard usb c to usb c male cable? In other words, do I need to get the cable from VKB or is it a regular data/charge usb c cable? Upgrading my Standard to a Max and I forgot to get the cable, but shipping what it is, I am hoping I can just buy a standard usbc cable locally.

Definitely a charging cable won't work, but a data USB C to USB C should work. Of course, there are many manufacturers of such cables and the quality varies, so I can't guarantee that

Your best bet is with a USB3-capable cable, as the VKB bus interface repurposes some of the extra pins on those. USB2-only cables have no extra pins, and repurposing USB2 pins would have risked damage to all included devices.

A regular USB-c (data) cable works. Tried and tested as I did not order the VKB one at first..
Thing is that the male connector of a regular USB-C cable can not get in deep enough to make proper contact with the unit.
So I stripped 3 mm of the plastic mantle of the cable, and then it made contact.
Just to be sure, I ordered a 27cm cable as well and installed that..
