The cooking staff inadvertently left the kitchen door slightly opened, and this is what we smelled from it.


STECS (all submodels) are going to have the thumb ministick replaced by a 5-way hat (4-way plus center push). This comes because many users complained about unwanted sideways movements when trying to go in one single direction. These voices were too many to ignore, so here it goes.

Also, a 2-axis ministick is introduced to sit under the index finger across all submodels.

For those who have thumb ministicks, and would prefer to have a hat instead, we will produce a limited number of replacement half-grips which will be offered for reduced cost.

Does the new ministick have a center push?
And I guess the ministick module is not swappable with another button module?

The thumb module is not swappable, because the internals of the modified grip wouldn't allow it.

If I buy STECS Throttle System – Max now, which configuration will it come in? If it's the original, when will revised option be available instead?

Any update on then the replacement grip will be available? Was hoping to get it during the sale so I can save some on other items I want to purchase at the same time.

It should say MK1 or MK2 on the product listing.

First, in the countries where dealers have storage (like, EU and AU), it all depends on the dealer. New version will gradually replace the out-going, while the latter will be offered for a discounted price.
Then, I appreciate @bigity's attention to exact wording! - however, in this particular case it is a creeping modification, hence the model is still the same, just a newer version.

I want the STECS with the new style hat switches. That is MK2 correct? I have it in my cart now.

Yes this is how the dealers decided to call it.
If you have it in your cart you will get the modified throttle.
