It is mentioned in the Voice Over.

It could have maybe used a little more info about the count in the text also.

It was also just pointed out to me at 0:48 in the vid in the text.

I missed that one when I was double checking earlier.

I was able to set the idle/OFF using the throttle on the DCS F/A-18, but at that time I set the button to 8, but when I did that, the button on the right was automatically set to 9. . Can't they be set individually? Or does the button explained in the video mean that the button is not actually used and by using it, the button that is actually available can be used elsewhere?

2 things:
- the buttons could be used only in sequential order;
- if you assigned to button 8 you probably assigned it to an already occupied location by another button on the throttle; try going further, around 60-70, to make sure you get an empty position. You could check occupied positions in Profile/Buttons/Physical layer - the occupied positions are in white and the free positions are in grey.

I solved it myself.

It means that you can add a new button by setting 55, 56 buttons with events like the video. I could not imagine that the movement of the throttle itself could be used as a button.

I might have missed the information or not understood what was explained, but will it be possible to plug the STECS on a BlackBox so as to have pedals, stick AND throttle recognized as a single physical device?

I expected it to be so since it seemed to be SOP for previous VKB peripherals, but while it has been confirmed that STECS can be an independent USB device, it was not specified if it could also behave like other VKB products. That is actually an important use case for me, even a potential dealbreaker.

Unfortunately not. A single device would be allowed by Windows to have max 128 buttons and 8 axes. So let's say they we'd have a STECS Standard (min 5 axes), T-Rudders (1 axis) and a MCGU with twist (8 axes) - that's at least 6 axes more than Windows would allow. The same with buttons; with all the STECS' module combinations plus a grip with many buttons and Shifts you'd exceed the 128 buttons limitation. Our software is able to split the physical device into several virtual devices, but you'll still have different devices seen by Windows, so why bother?
All modern games allow at least 6 independent controllers these days. And the old games won't read more then 3 axes, 1POV and 32 buttons anyway, so it doesn't make any sense to use more electronics and get the products more expensive for nothing.

Hello,

Question about STECS standard.
    Can I remove the STEM module from the throttle and use both devices (different entries in DEVCFG)?
    If yes how to disassemble the Stecs and how to connect STEM to PC (usb cable) ?

Thank you for helping.
Best regards.
