F-18 TM stick grip adapter kit

I have a couple of questions concerning the not-yet-released F-18 TM adapter kit (I'm on the Notify list): 1) I already have a Thrustmaster F/A-18 grip, and I'm just waiting on the adapter so I can use it with my Gunfighter base. Can you tell me if the adapter will EVER be released? In other words, is there a possibility that it will NEVER be released? 2) Can the F-16 TM adapter be made to work with the F-18 grip simply by filing a notch in the adapter for clearance? Or is there more to it than just the clearance issue (software/wiring)? Thanks in advance!
