This is so early 2000s, but... :

I'll show myself out...

Re: VKB TECS: MODULARITY FULL AHEAD
I'm a GF early adopter and as big a VKB fan boy as any of you but over 4 years after the original announcement of this throttle project I gotta wonder if it's vaporware. Two almost identical twin threads going back all that time and... nothing. Well not exactly nothing. Quite a few other products have been released since with no prior announcement or buzz here makes me doubt it's a priority. Not saying it's not on the road map but because of that I feel clearly it's been cast aside. It's quite the bummer!

Re: VKB TECS: MODULARITY FULL AHEAD
And we all hope that day comes! That's really the only reason I check this forum regularly. But I gotta admit after all this time I'm starting to lose faith. The Duke Nukem Forever comment clicked with me! I loved the original game and during the pandemic I rebuilt my hoopty PC just to play it again! Let's hope the parallels don't continue. Like.. if it came out and was more gladiator class than the gunfighter class we've been waiting for. Right?

It's as real as it could be, just a way more complicated project which requires more resources than any other project or product from our list and lineup. It is true that new products have been released since the TECS has been announced, but even a very easy project takes a long time to develop.

Re: VKB TECS: MODULARITY FULL AHEAD
Seeing how well this new NXT Evo of mine performs - and how I already wish I had a better throttle than my TWCS - I'm happy to wait.
The TM unit will do for now, and having to wait longer will reduce the psychological hit of buying both this new VKB throttle and the Crosswinds I'm about to order (sorry VKB, but I really need toe-brakes ). 'Cause, let's face it, if this thing does come out and does so at a half-way reasonable price, I'll order it as soon as it pops up in the store.

Are we at least looking at some sort of announcement later this year?

The announcement will come when the TECS is already or ready to get into production, nothing until then.

So, it's as real as it can be, but a broad timeline can't even be given? Color me skeptical, then. Four years is a ridiculously long time to develop something like this.

Re: VKB TECS: MODULARITY FULL AHEAD
It is perfectly fine to be skeptical about it, same as calling the project ridiculous, vaporware or whatever other similar words have been thrown at it in the past years. This would definitely not change its course, it would still be high priority for us, waiting to be released when it's ready for it.

Re: VKB TECS: MODULARITY FULL AHEAD
EDIT: Whoops, nevermind. Just saw that there are a ton of info and projected specs up already. My bad.
One thing I can't seem to find (or was too dumb to find):
Construction is...? All metal? All plastic? Something in between?
The base looks vaguely similar to the Gladiator NXT's but if I understood correctly, the base in the pics isn't what will be used in the final product.

Re: VKB TECS: MODULARITY FULL AHEAD
The base won't look like that in its final form, that's just a temporary holder for the handle.
