VKB-SIM

Hello there!

I've bought VKB F-14 Grip (for Mk. IV), Blackbox Mk III, Moza AB9 Base with the VPForce adapter.

When setting up I can't seem to make the Blackbox, via VKBDevCfg or ZBootloader2, nor Windows detect the stick.

I've followed VKB official video on flashing but can't seem to get it to work. The max I can get to is the Blackbox flashing red light with solid green.

I would suggest to check the adapter, the way the grip sits on it.

I've reseated the stick on the adapter twice given that appears to be a common fix (I've come across several posts suggesting and that being the fix) but no dice on my end :/

My question is: shouldn't the Black box be detected in Device Manager as a USB device? On my PC after trying several USB-B cables it is not detected.

It should.
Try connecting just the Blackbox, without the grip.
Show a screenshot from the configurator.

As per your request, VKBDevCfg-C running as admin, no grip connected.
Now it's flashing LED 1 and 2 red, with the grip LED 1 is solid green, LED 2 is flashing red.

EDIT: I've also included a screenshot of Z-Bootloader running as admin, no grip connected.

Hold down the Sys button and only then connect the cable to the BlackBox. Show a screenshot from the configurator.

Ok, so now it only lights up the LED next to said button, in blue.
Both the configurator and the bootloader report nothing :/

Unplug everything from USB, except mouse and keyboard, reboot computer in Safe Mode, try again. Plug the BB to the back of computer, no extensions or hubs. Try multiple USB ports and USB cables, if available.

Per your suggestion I did just that and not showing not even on Device Manager.
I've downloaded the "Show_HID.exe" from the official page and kept plugging in to different ports to see if something appears, nothing...

Look, I'm starting to feel like it's a defective Black Box or simply an unsupported use case (of which I totally understand).

I'm going to open a ticket with support to see what's the recommended course of action.

I am still very keen on hearing your suggestions and continued support, because you have been nothing but that!

Make sure you plug directly to the back of computer, no extenders or USB hubs. Use the original cable. Swap USB ports. Update your motherboard's chipset drivers and USB drivers.

The computer that I own it's a laptop, but your point still stands.

I've tried several cables since there isn't a cable included in the box.

Tried all USB ports. Same result.

Drivers are up to date.

Laptops are often coming with lots of bloatware which might get in the way. I would suggest to try the BB only (no grip) on another computer.
