SEM-V completely steath after failed(?) firmware flash

I recently flashed my VKB NXTs (one of them a merged device) to firmware v2.20.

In the process I also wanted to flash my SEM-V (standalone device) to the latest version.
I chose the correct firmware package, the flash seemed to work fine, the SEM-V restarted and then.... poof
"USB device cannot be indentified", device no longer there in VKBconfig, the whole show.

All lights on the SEM-V turn on correctly, but it seems to no longer have a hardware ID to be recognized by the OS on any level.

I tried the following.
- replugging on powered USB hub
- replugging directly on PC
- hardware reset on the device itself (button combination)
- change devioce # on the device itself (button combination)

but nothing works.
I have submitted a ticket but have not heard back for two weeks (oh look, a DCS pun :) ).

Does anyone have any idea what to do - I would really not want to consider this reliable and barely used module a write-off...

The SEM, like any other NXT module, can't work independently as a USB device - you'll either have to connect it to a Gladiator, like shown here, or upgrade it with a GNX HID Controller.

Thank you for the reply.
Well, of course my SEM V has a GNX HID, as you stated, otherwise it would have to be a merged device.
And as a standalone, it has been working flawlessly ever since I purchased it.

It was when I flashed the firmware to v2.20 (using the correct package), that the module - as described above - suddenly ghosted, despite a success message from the flash.

So again, my desperate plea for help remains.

What I have not done was take the GNX HID out, attempt to merge it with my LEFT Gladiatator NXT (that is already merged with a GNX THQ with WWII grip) - hopefully I will not have to try that, I will, but only if told to.

All I did was perform proper maintenance, and now my module is ghosting, as described - the hardware ID no longer transmits, not on OS level, not in the VKB suite, nothing.

Try the latest firmware and configurator from here.
The package contains a text file and an image, which you should review.
