STECS Detent Question

This has to do with detent LED's. Are detents events only detected from movement of the Right Throttle? My two throttles are not locked together. I have three detent bars installed, two for the Throttle (R) and one for the Prop Pitch Control (L). The V has been removed on the side (left or right) of each detent bar that is not relative to its use. I can not get the LED's to detect a detent from the Left Throttle. The Right Throttle detent light just fine. I have to admit this indicator light is only for show as I do not have time to look at lights when I am flying, and I can feel the detent just fine.
