Grip WWII.

Postby Asam » Mon Feb 02, 2026 16:57

Good morning.
Would it be possible to connect the THQ WWII grip—just the grip—directly to the NXT Evo base using a 3D printed part, without needing the GNX THQ?

Thank you

The grip has no brain of its own and relies on the chips in the THQ, so no.

Hello.
Yes, I know the grip needs to be connected to the THQ, but the THQ needs to be connected to the NXT base to function. That's why I'm wondering if it would be possible to make the grip work by connecting it directly to the NXT base—adapting the cable connector, of course. Regards.

The THQ connects to the GNX ecosystem over a bus line. The grip is a small passive input to the THQ that needs the THQ base to be adapted to the bus. So no, you cannot bypass the THQ. That is also why the WW2 THQ requires a specific subaddress and why the grip does not show up in the external device view.
