GF mk.III axes skipping/stuttering
Posted: Fri Sep 19, 2025 7:59
Hello and good day,
I've owned my mk.III gunfighter and MCGU for several years now. I have struggled to pin down this issue that I have been experiencing.
The X AND Y axis of my mk.III stutters or skips when looking at them in the VKBConfig tool and the Windows Joy config window.
This stutter or skip also affects affects the slider(brake lever).
Both connectors on the gimbal, and the connector at the USB breakout board are solid.
This phenomenon occurs whether plugged directly into the motherboard, or using my powered USB hub with just the mk.III turned on.
I have tried to see if the other controllers exhibit the same behavior, a TM Warthog throttle (updated version with good slew controller) and MFG Crosswind V3 rudder pedals, and the behavior does not exist on either of those devices ruling out an OS level problem. (WIN11)
Gimbal is configured as follows: AVIA-H Cams, Double 50# springs with shrinkwrap, VKB 200mm extension, clutches at half position with pg-44a grease, and MCGU stick with 2x 5 way hats installed.
VKBConfig software is as follows: v0.93.43
MCGU Firmware is as follows: v2.199
Attached are videos of the skipping as well as the joytester print outs showing odd skip behavior:
