Bind keys to Twist (Z) axis

Postby scryber » Mon Mar 17, 2025 23:40

I'd like to bind two keys to the twist axis: a key for when twisting left, and a key for when twisting right. Having a moderate deadzone is a must. Bonus if I can bind something like middle mouse button.

I have a NXT EVO SC, latest firmware and configurator.

NJoy32 Family Controllers Configuration Utility
User guide
https://disk.yandex.ru/i/gMXdc7nA6cwRgA
...
3.7. Axes2Buttons; axis rotation to button press sequence conversion
...
Choose axis response range division type from Type combo box.
- OFF – no conversion.
- Edges1 – single button press on bound zone cross.
- Edges2 – pair of buttons from both sides of zone bound will be pressed with bound cross.
- Zones – button is pressed while axis response belongs to the zone.
Set zone number using counter Num. 0 an 1 allow to use trailers. Button will be
pressed at extreme axis positions. If Num = 0, lower trailer will work, if Num = 1,
than upper.
If you set Num = 1 for Edges2 then both trailers, upper and lower will work. If you
use this function for throttle axis, when you move throttle lever to zero position, but
ton for ignition or fuel pump stop and so on will be virtually pressed. Maximal posi
tion of this lever will press WEP button.

Thanks, I was using the manual guide but there are some discrepancies and I still haven't figured it out.

For example, when I set the A2B to Edges:1 > Zones:1 in the popup, it appears in the A2B list as "LimSw Up" and I can't find what that means anywhere in the manual. I presume that since the Num=1 it switches to LimSw since no other buttons are called.

The hysteresis % seems to not affect anything, the only thing I can get to work is at the full range. And only to the left.

Right now I have it like this:
A2B #3 LinSw Up H:1% VB:45 (this one works but only at full range)
A2B #4 LinSw Up H:1% VB:47

I used #3 and #4 because those are listed as Rot Z and Z, but I'm just guessing really, stumbling around in the dark...

Attach your profile, it will be easier to understand. Screenshots of settings are only welcome.
Try this, if you don’t like the order of the buttons, you can invert the axis.

Thanks, that does work. It does require the full twist to work, is there a way to have it fire off at 25% or 50%?

Each other button requires its own comparator.
