My Gunfighter IV (left) stopped working in operation and does not show up in VKBDevCfg. I spent a few hours combing through things to troubleshoot, but I think I've run out of options. So, I decided to make a post and open a ticket (10991).
When plugging in the joystick, there is no windows chime. When pushing the Black Box firmware button on the MK3, there is a chime.
When the firmware button is pushed, "zBoot Njoy32 v02.35" shows up in VKBDevCfg. The "Device Report" shows the configuration with no errors ,but warnings of duplicate keys being used.
Things i've tried:
* Reflashing the firmware. It is successful, resets the device, then is not recognized. See the below snippet from the logs.
* Holding F1 + F2 as well as F1 + F2 + F3 when plugging in the device.
* Reboot
* Uninstalling all disconnected devices in UsbDevview. Plugged the left stick in and nothing happened. Plugged the right stick in and it populated.
* Tried swapping all cables between the left and right stick.
* Reseated the 4 pin connector on the base of the stick.
* Plugging the right stick into the left Black Box will show it as the left stick, however, none of the buttons show up on test.
* Plugging both sticks into another computer. The right is recognized the left is not.
Additional Info
============
* Using a powered USB hub. Different ports were also tried direct to the computer.

Re: Gunfighter IV (left) stopped working in operation
You do not have F buttons on your Gunfighter. The F buttons in the Gladiator NXT guide refer to the ones on the stick base, not on your keyboard.
Now, for solvng your problem: the equivalent of F1+F2 on Evo is to hold the orange SYS button on the black box for about 5 seconds after the LED comes on when you plug it into your computer. Assuming the LED does come on. Let it go after the LED changes color and any broken profile data should be deleted

Re: Gunfighter IV (left) stopped working in operation
This got the stick working to the point where I could reset it to defaults. I'm not sure exactly what I did when holding the SYS button and never noticed the LEDs change. Is the process supposed to be - hold the SYS button as the USB cable is plugged in for 5 seconds or something else?
Do you know of any Blackbox MK3 documentation that would tell me what the status indicator mean?
Got the firmware updated. Hopefully, that will prevent this from happening again. I appreciate the info, I'm new to VKB and finding reference documentation has been a hurdle.

Hmm... well it worked for a few hours and died again.
I'm open to trying something else, but this is the third failure and I've had the stick for about a week and a half. Out of the box it had to be flashed and set to default - I'm starting to think I got a lemon.

Re: Gunfighter IV (left) stopped working in operation
I would be curious if there is any setting ylu are making in vkbdevcfg that causes this. If you are configuring a function not many people use, there might be a firmware bug. On the other hand, it could also be an issue with your black box.
One option to find out which it is would be swapping your black boxes and configuring each of them for the other stick.

Re: Gunfighter IV (left) stopped working in operation
Maybe, I think my configuration is pretty minimal though. This is what I've set:
* On both sticks, I've remapped button #3 and #8 to Left and Right Alt at the logical layer.
* The only difference on the left stick is that I've inverted the Y-Axis.
