UCM Short Mount Adjustment Range?

Hi, I was looking at the UCM short mount options. What is the "shortest" I can make these? Based on the picture at the link below, I feel that the stick would be too low from the surface of the desktop based on my needs. I really don't want the base of the stick to sit more than 3 inches below the level of the desk. The picture in the link looks like it's it's at least 7 or 8 inches below the level of the desk. Does the mounting height adjustment, assuming there is one, let me go higher than what is pictured? Thank you.

3 inches below the desk level is... almost nothing? I mean why would you even consider mounts if that's the case? The mounts are supposed to provide an ergonomic approach, with a straight wrist and the elbow at around 90deg while handling the joystick. Unless your desk is extremely low or your chair very tall you can't achieve that with only 3 inches under desk level mount.

I consider this mount for three reasons. One, I need to mount my stick securely. Number two, the company that happens to make the stick that I bought (VKB) also makes mounts. I prefer this mounting option to some kind of aftermarket solution, assuming there even is one. And number three, I have a disability and use a wheelchair, so my options are limited so I'm looking for flexibility based on the current desk that I have, and may be future options that might open up more flexibility.
So again, what is the shortest I can make this UCM short mount?
Thank you.

About 5 inches before you get into hackjob territory.

It's true, we're making mounts, but it's not in us to push people to buy stuff they don't need.
So if I'm reading this right you're trying to get with your armrests somehow under the mounts; as Delta said, you might be able to get a 5-6 inches drop, but I would say it should be fine if the chair slides just between the 2 mounts. The mounts will not be on top of the armrests, but like an extension to their outer sides. The advantage of this type of mount is that it extrudes from the desk, so the chair doesn't have to go under the desk in order to get good control over the joysticks.
