Hello,
Today I reveived a brand new Gladiator NXT EVO 'WWII Combat Edition' joystick (SKU: VKBSIM-S-GNE-KG12).
I mounted the grip on the base following the Quick Installation Guide on the paper sheet.
I connected the grip connection to the first in the right of the two identical connectors in the board (in the Guide sheet only appears one connector).
When I connected the USB cable to the computer both the red and blue lights started to blink all the time.
The calibration procedure did not worked as explained in the sheet: I pressed the three function buttons for 3 seconds but nothing happened, the lights kept blinking.
I found your support site and downloaded the firmware version 2.18.9, the ZBootloader2.exe and the VKBDevCfg-C.exe.
I flashed the device with the "_Gladiator_EVO_v2_18_9.vkb" file. I have no other flight sim hardware connected to the PC (no throttle, etc).
The lights in the joystick stopped blinking, the device looked functional, and I calibrated and started to configure it for the game IL-2 Great Battles.
My Pitch, Roll and Yaw axes, and the throttle lever all work fine, as well as the three function buttons.
The problem is that I cannot configure the POV hat, it does not work as a POV switch. It works as the buttons 0-3 of the joystick (in the game) or the buttons 1-4 (in the config tool).
I tested some of the solutions I read in this forum (set "Discrete" in the POV type), to no avail.
The "Buttons/POVs" tab in the "Test" tab shows a round red POV-1 with no arrows in it when I move the hat.
I'm sure this is only a configuration issue, but I'm stuck with that POV hat right now.
Thanks in advance,
Dave

That is not a ministick, but a hat switch without center push.

Hello, fallout9
I don't know what is a ministick. Mine is a POV hat without center push, correct. Like in my old Thrustmaster T16000. But it does not work like a POV switch. Right now, it acts like 4 different buttons in a cross. Any idea?

Hello, again
I've found out this info in your "Njoy32_2_19_En.pdf":

My assumption here is that you are selling this joystick with this configuration BY DEFAULT (=the hat working as four simple independent buttons). But I don't have any other viewing device and I need the POV hat functioning as a POV hat.
Thanks in advance for the help.

In the Profile-Buttons tab of the configurator, activate the Poll checkbox and press the button in all directions.
Where do the red squares light up on the button field?
Show on the screenshot.

Hello, Ron61
I have activated the Poll checkbox and now it lights up some "virtual leds" in the button configurator. These two lights correspond to the position "Up+Right" or "North+East" of the POV hat when I move it.
I have "Action->Set" and tested in the "IL-2 BoS" game, but it keeps saying that it is the button 2 of the joystick: joy1_btn2 (not joy1_pov_45, that is what I want it to be).

When moving around the circle, only 2 light up?
And with other deviations?
I need the readings of all the red squares that light up, this is important.
And also - what is this?
Try resetting to default with the button and re-do the autoconfiguration and calibration.

Hello again, Ron61
No, when moving around the circle, I have 8 different combinations of buttons. Like I said, the former screenshot corresponds only to the North-East position.
All the button combinations for the eight positions of the hat are like follows:

What you have marked in red is the button 109 that appears in the documentation as a POV, but I have not changed anything about that:

I have pressed the "Default" Button in the "Tools" tab, then the autoconfiguration and then the calibration. And nothing changes, the POV hat keeps behaving like four different buttons in the IL-2 game (joy1_b2, joy1_b0, joy1_b1 and joy1_b3. The game only reads the four cross directions, not the other four intermediate ones.
Bear in mind that I have not made any change to the default configuration, it simply refuses to recognize the POV hat as a viewing device.

Re: POV hat not working in a new Gladiator WWII Combat Edition
Ok, all 4 physical buttons of the hut work. Now you just need to assign POV to them.
Click on the first left cell and select POV, then the correct direction (click on the desired arrow), close the window and go to the next cell, repeat the process.
When all 4 buttons are assigned, write the work done to the controller with the Set button.

Hello, Ron61
I have changed the very same buttons of the POV hat to "POV Switch" and its corresponding arrow, and now it works like a charm!
Thank you very much, it seems so easy with the help of an expert.
