I was playing Starcitizen and my right joystick disconnected. Once I reconnected and restarted the application my left stick no longer was recognized as a joystick and was reading as a keyboard. Upon further inquiry in the VKB config the stick was reading as a Modern Combat Pro and my rapid fire trigger wasn't registering on the tester nor was my 8 way hat registered as an axis regardless of if I clicked it or not.

Select the device in VKBDevCfg, click the Default button under the Tools tab, then Yes to the configure popup. Calibrate afterwards.

Unplug from USB and reseat the grip on the base. If you have Gunfighter MKIII press gently on grip while tightening the fastener. If you have MKIV you don't need to press on the grip, just make sure it's all the way in, then the fastener is properly tightened.

Upon preforming a first time set up where I followed the instructions to initialize the black box and factory reset this seems to have fixed the issue

Same thing is happening to me. First it showed as Modern Combat....after doing factory reset via the Default key it still shows up wrong.
Now it shows up as T-Rudder?!?!

Please follow the suggestions above, especially reseating the grip and making sure it's all the way in while tightening the fastener.
