Gladiator NXT X axis not working

I am trying to calibrate my gladiator NX, and I have followed all the steps in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NTZNUT8wmOA

Unfortunately it just isn't going further than 15536 to the left and 32767 to the right (under the test axes1 page of VKB device config software).

Please let me know what to do.

Also, second but probably related problem, it looks like the wires that connected the stick to the base have been disconnected, how do I go about reconnecting those as well?

Show the Profile-Axes tab from the configurator and a photo of the connection of these wires.

I was able to reconnect the wires in the bottom, one of them was rather short but they're connected well enough now so I don't have a picture of that for you. The lights on the stick and everything seem to be working now. Does it have to do with the 3x screws that attach the stick to the base?
