Issue with Gladiator EVO R XT (v2.122)

Postby ydiss » Fri Aug 02, 2024 18:45

I have both the L and R versions and have had them for about a year, with no issues until today.

I use these exclusively in Elite Dangerous but this afternoon the game stopped recognising (couldn't find the GUID) for my R stick. Now, I've raised a ticket with the devs of the game as this is often an issue with their software but I continued to look into my R stick in the Device cgf software. I had made a change to the config today (remapped a button to a keyboard key press) and wondered if maybe I'd messed something up accidentally. What stood out is that I could not see anything on the test tab (for buttons or Axes1). In fact, if I used the "In Window" option, the window says "Razer Hunstman V2 Analog" instead of what it should say ("VKBSIM Gladiator EVO R").

This is really weird. I do have that keyboard, by the way. Just to be clear though, everything was working fine this week and even this morning... This only went wrong this afternoon.

So, to be sure, I defaulted the stick, calibrated again and... it's still the same.

Unfortunately Razer is putting out there a very intrusive piece of software. We had many reports about it interfering with our products. If you'll remove/turn it off you'll get access to joysticks.

Thanks for the quick response. Well I can't remove my keyboard :D

But it seems swapping the stick USB ports around sorted it. Windows acknowledged both and then it just worked. Sounds like it isn't an issue with your products (and I love them by the way, amazing to use).
