THQ, jittery axis

I have a THQ-V unit, attached to a SEM-V and FSM-GA. Two of the axes on the THQ are smooth as silk, but the third one jitters when moving it through the bottom part of the range. I took a screenshot of the joystick tester to demonstrate.

I already tried setting the unit to default and recalibrating it but it didn't change anything.

Any help would be appreciated.
