THQ Slider 1 and Slider 3 are recognized as same input

Postby Marc Sascha » Tue Nov 14, 2023 21:06

Hi Guys,

I have a NXT EVO with a THQ assembled on the left side. I am using only one USB controller. I am using Windows 11 Home.

I flashed the device, set it to default, hit Find & Show and finally calibrated it.

All buttons and axes get recognised and work perfectly fine.

But setting controls in MSFS has one issue: Slider 1 (axis 7) and slider 3 (axis 9) are both recognised as the same identical input.
- Slider one (axis 7) recognised as "Slider X"
- Slider two (axis 8) recognised as "Slider Y"
- Slider three (axis 9) recognised also as "Slider X"

Any help in fixing this is highly appreciated.

Thanks,
Marc

Go back to the 3rd slide and set up Dial instead of Slider on axis 8, then press Set under action tab.

Hi, tried that, but still the same issue.

Now I have:

Slider 1 = Axis 7 (on virtual device 1) set to Slider. In MSFS it is recognised as Slider X.
Slider 2 = Axis 8 (on virtual device 1) set to Slider. In MSFS it is recognised as Slider Y.
Slider 3 = Axis 9 (on virtual device 2) set to Dial. In MSFS it is recognised as Slider X (same as Slider 1 = Axis 7)

Slider 3 should be recognised e.g. as Slider Z...that would do the job.

Another idea how I can fix it?

Thanks,
Marc

You now have two devices with the same name, but with different numbers of axes. If you go to Test, you can select any of them. In MSFX, focus on this feature, and not on the names.

No matter which of the "two Joysticks" in MSFS I choose for setting up the Mixture Axis (which should be on Slider 3) it does not work. It is always interfering with the Throttle Axis (which is on Slider 1).

Both sliders are interpreted as the exact same input. Slider 1 = Slider 3...

I cannot set a different command to these two sliders.

I repeat once again - you have two identical devices (by name), but with a different number of axes. Choose the right one when assigning to MSFS.

I finally made it! But it took a complete new installation of MSFS...now I can assign different commands to both virtual joysticks.

Thanks for your help!
