STECS Devcfg number of buttons

Postby KPX » Sat Oct 07, 2023 17:30

Hello,
As shown in image, my STECS Standard version displays only 99 buttons in DevCfg. Why not 128 as in Gunfighter profiles ?
Can I set it to 128 ?

Why USB PID is empty (image 2), some time it is not empty and I can select MGC PRO or MGC Ult ?

Why no 128 button in the virtual layer map (last image) ?

Best regards

It displays 99 instead of 128 because you've been playing with it :)) Either set it to 128 or reset to default, reinitialize and calibrate it.
The USB PID feature is MCG grip related, not needed for STECS, so it's loaded only when a MCG is detected.

Hello,
Thanks for answer.

"""Either set it to 128 or reset to default, reinitialize and calibrate it"""
OK set to 128, reset to default, set new firmware (2.16.8) recalibrate etc... (seem to stay to 128)

Button 128 not displaying in the available buttons selector (cell 128 empty) as in previous image.

"""The USB PID feature is MCG grip related"""
If you look, there are 2 GF (a 3 and a 4) connected. USB PID does not display when I select one of the Two GF but no usb pid selector.

What is this boolean function with the 2.16.8 firmware ? See images.

Info displayed by Devcfg is incorrect see images with question marks--- tooltip is incorrect .

The number in brackets in the header is the minimum of firmware version recommended to be used in combination with that version of VKBDevCfg.
You should get the USB PID feature active on both joysticks; try to flash the second one to the latest fm too. If that doesn't help try to swap USB ports or kill some background apps which might interfere with USB ports (like Aorus, Razer, Logitech, any LED management app etc).

ok, flashed all VKB device to latest firmware.

USB PID appears and some time disappears (I do not know when and why).

Tool tip when hovering mouse on device name incorrect, tool tip shows only "Gunfighter 3 (BB mk2) - see image.

As already told since the purchase, DEVCFG does not recognize correctly the new GF 4 and BB MK3. New GF4 does not have a twist. Does this mean that I cannot use 2 GF of different versions ?

Some wrong info in zconfig.ini ?

No answer has been given for why the virtual button map has a blank in position 128. I've created a boolean function that sometimes outputs virtual button 128 and it works fine, so I know this is assignable. However I wanted to create a TEMPO function on one physical button that outputs virtual 128 on a short press and another virtual button on a long press, but the button wizard won't let me assign virtual 128. When I open the virtual button map from the dialog for the TEMPO function in the button wizard position 128 is missing. I do have maximum buttons set to 128.
