WW2 Gladiator NXT EVO stick issues

Just got my Gladiator NXT ww2 stick to use in IL-2. Cannot get the buttons on the stick to work only the ones on the base. ARE these joysticks pre programed to work on all buttons? Everyones video of instructions, the buttons all work like the trigger without them assigning them. My Base buttons fire the plane. I can use one button to use as a throttle. But all of the actual joysticks buttons cannot be reconized on the site. How does it work or do I have a bad stick??

Have you defaulted and calibrated?
Can you show an image of your VKBDevCFG window with Global >> External >> External Devices page with the KG grip selected from the External Devices area?

I know there were some issues with the KG grips on NXT/EVO with firmwares over 2.12.2. I am not sure if that has been fixed on the new batch of firmware or not.
