Hello,
I have a problem with new GFIV MKIII.
I have a GFIII MK2. It is disconnected from the PC.
I connected MKIII and have to do the initialization/calibration several times.
With Devcfg, I have not the correct ID of the device. It still says :
"""
Contrôleur de jeu HID
Product Name: VKBSim Gunfighter MCG Ultimate Twist
PRO version
T-Link supported
Firmware version: v2.151
Rudder On
Profile verified
"""
That is info rom the old GF (MKII) no more connected.
On the MKIV blackbox, I have the first led color orange (first in row of three), middle led is green third one is off, led above red button is blue.
What can I do to set up correctly the MKIII blackbox ?
Best regards.

Re: GFIV - MKIII recognition problem.
You need to Reset/Default/Calibrate on the BB3 now before doing any calibrations in VKBDevCFG.
Timestamped video for instructions.
https://youtu.be/CLe1fMyriME?si=0kDMSPeN_WF0v0fS&t=45
Once setup properly and BB3 calibration is finished then you can calibrate in VKBDevCFG.
But defaulting will likely put you back into a loop of needing to Reset/Default/Calibrate on the BB3 again.
It took me several tries to get it right.
Just try again if it doesn't seem to have configured properly.

Hello,
Some info:
* redone calibration -> everthing seems correct (stedady blue color and 2 other leds steady green).
* led turning orange : this happens when master mode button used as axes and not as POV
* done some axis test with tester (vkbjoy_tester and joystick gremlin joy tester) -> ok device acting as expected.
* replug my GFIII-MKII box - see image - : both devices (old and new) recognized but name of new device is incorrect (I have no twist module).
profiles are different (blank for MK3 and configured for MK2) as expected, what puzzled me is that new GFIV indicates 2 POV .
I think everything is working normally but Devcfg displays incorrect information for new GFMK.
Incorrect info :
- incorrect name (no twist module)
- "rudder on" but I have no rudder
How to correct this ?
Best regards.

Re: GFIV - MKIII recognition problem.
Tried to load firmware via bootloader.
Got error you can see in image below. When this error occurs, I loose the GF (only blue led steady) - and I get an nJoy device instead of my GFIV.
I have to go to the calibration procedure to get it (GF) back.
If I directly use the zbootloader, then zbootloader continuously ask to open Devfcg, answer Yes thn continue to ask.
What is wrong in what I am doing ?

The screenshot above shows the BB in bootloader mode, click the Flash It! button, then follow the buttons sequence from the guide.
Re: GFIV - MKIII recognition problem.
Hello,
I unplugged MK2 and plug MK3 in another USB port + init and calibration.
I tried to load new firmware 2.16 but it failed with "_BlackBox3_Unified_v2_16_0.vkb".
I have dowloaded :"BB_Mk3_Unified_v2_16_3.vkb", plus new DevCfg version. After this I succeed in loading new firmware.
Recalibrate GFIV -> OK.
Replug GFIII ->ok
Info tab :
"""
Contrôleur de jeu HID
Product Name: VKBSim Gunfighter MCG Ultimate Twist
PRO version
T-Link supported
Firmware version: v2.163
Rudder On
"""
But the fact that I have new firmware, new Devcfg, new zbootloader, my questions here under are unchanged and unsolved:
* identification of device is incorrect, I have no twist on GFIV.
* still says rudder on but I have no rudder.
If this is not a problem for the use of device ; then it is ok. Only problem is that I could select the wrong stick as the names are very similar.
Best regards.
JD

Thanks for helping.

Re: GFIV - MKIII recognition problem.
I believe the Rudder ON and Twist label are just how the newer unified firmware is picking them up.
I don't have Rudders and mine also show Rudder on. I believe it is also tied to the #1 LED on the BB3.
I can't say for sure how stable a BB2 profile will be on BB3

Re: GFIV - MKIII recognition problem.
Hello,
Here what's happening when I load my BB2 profile on BB3...strange.
Initial setup (no profile loaded):
When I load my GF3 profile on GF4 (BB2->BB3) :
I can convert a joystick to a rudder
I will reconfigure my GFIV "manually".
Still need to be sure that this incorrect identification of MGCU GFIV is not a problem - in axis test, Devcfg displays a non exitent Z axis (as I have no twist).
Have a nice day.
Best regards

Re: GFIV - MKIII recognition problem.
Interesting on the rudder after profile import. I wasn't sure exactly what would happen with a GF3 profile on a GF4. lol
I have not seen an official mention on the naming/recognition, but I am fairly certain it is part of the new change over to the unified firmware for auto detecting connected devices.
I had not noticed mine had Rudder On until you brought it up. Though it does not affect my ability to setup or use the device.
I do have Twist though, I can understand why you are wondering about it. Pretty sure it can be ignored for now with a little adjusting.
For the erroneous axis.
Just uncheck 'En' and 'Vs' checkbox for the axis ID 7, off the top of my head, on Profile >> Axes >> Logical axes and hit 'Set'
Edit:
I am not sure if disabling Axis #8, setting it to NONE, on Global >> External >> External Devices will remove the Twist identification or not.

Re: GFIV - MKIII recognition problem.
Profile is simple, just have pov + mice on gate cont (as you explained when I asked how to do this).
OK done.
Tried but same name in devcfg; twist always present.
Thank you for helping.
Best regards.
