Hello,
I've got a gunfighter III with MCG pro and long extension.
I use avia S cam and 50# springs.
Since a few weeks I cant calibrate it anymore, the X axis keep drifting and the brake axis is now not recognised.
I can recalibrate it, but when I use the joystick to full deflection the problem appears again.
I've noticed that there's 100% commucication level with the stick when i go to full deflection to the rear
I've cleaned up the sensors and the magnet and didn't change anything.
There is no cut wire, and I also verified that the connectors are in place.
I use the latest firmware.
Regards

Re: Gunfighter III calibration issues
Please make sure the grip is seated on the extension and the extension on base firmly; press a bit on them while tightening the fastener for better contact.
If the problem persists after this please fill a service ticket and add pics with the contacts pins and pads on grip, extension and base.

Re: Gunfighter III calibration issues
the extension is now correctly tightened to the base and I don't have communication error anymore.
But both axis are still drifting when I am making the calibration process.

Re: Gunfighter III calibration issues
What do you mean by drifting?
Just offset from the center and holds a position or moving around when no input is being applied to the grip?
If it just sits off center with no input after calibration. It makes me wonder if you have unchecked any boxes on the Profile >> Axes page?

Re: Gunfighter III calibration issues
When I start the calibration process, all the cursors in the axis window find theyr centers. Then I try to calibrate the X axis, and the Y axis center position change, It stay at a certain value until I move the stick again. I makes it impossible to offset since the center position keep changing.
The Y axis tend to do the same but in a less important way. I can compensate it with a center deadzone in game.
I've tried to do the calibration process with or without the autocalibration boxes checked, but the problem is still there.
I was wondering if the magnets were not moving correctly because of the dampers so I've unthigted them and regreased the dry clutches. It didn't change anything.

Re: Gunfighter III calibration issues
Have you tried a higher DzLo in VKBDevCFG?
I am not sure about the "stay at a certain value until I move the stick again" the way you describe it.
Maybe some debris near the sensor/magnet?
Edit:
The Y axis moving while the X axis is being calibrated isn't a big deal though.
Or vice versa. You can just get a better calibration when you focus on a single direction at a time instead of circles.
Just in case I am misunderstanding some what.

Re: Gunfighter III calibration issues
Are you using single #50 spring or double per cam? Single would be too light for the extension.
Add up more springs, so you'll have 1x50 and at least a 1x20 per cam, release the dampeners completely, reset to default and calibrate, then do the test again.
Here's a guide on adjusting the base, you could see in there how to add springs and adjust dampeners.

Re: Gunfighter III calibration issues
What I try to explain is that the virtual center of Y axis change value if I move the X axis ( when I move the physical stick )
On this picture, the X axis is showed in black and the Y in red.
As soon as I move the stick left and right, the center value of the Y axis change. I've encircled this with green lines. At those moments, the physical stick is back to his center position, but the virtual axis has changed his center value.
I'didn't see any metal parts around the magnets.
I'll try to change the DzLo in VKBDevCFG.
Sorry for my english, it not my native language.
@Fallout9 :
I was using double #50 per cam when the problem started, I tought It was causing the problem, so i've changed it to one #50 per cam but the problem persist.

Re: Gunfighter III calibration issues
Roger!
That clarified it for me.
I wasn't sure if you meant it was sticking or not.
I am not sure what would be causing that.
I am not familiar with an extension either that is a decent amount more leverage.
So it might be part of the reason why
Though interesting that you are seeing it on dual #50s to start.
I would still do the steps fallout9 listed to be sure.

Re: Gunfighter III calibration issues
The problem seems to be solved.
I've set up the gunfighter with 2 #50 springs and followed the steps in the video but the problem persisted.
the solution came highering the DzLo of the Y axis. 4.3 is the minimal value for the stick to work well again.
thanks for your help!

Re: Gunfighter III calibration issues
I also suggest using the Hard cams, as they provide a deeper detent when crossing the axes in order to avoid axis bleeding.
