Hi all,
I have been having an issue on and off since I purchased my sticks in June last year.
Until now, this issue has been so infrequent I considered it not a big deal.
Lately, the issue is happening 1-2 times per 4hr session in game and is ruining my enjoyment.
The issue:
Without an obvious common trigger, my game will suddenly behave as if I am rotating the left stick 100% to the left.
Nothing seems to affect this, applying counter rotation, etc has no effect.
This persists until I either disconnect the USB from the black box, or restart the controller in the VKB software.
Worth noting:
* The VKB config software definitely thinks the input is correct - reporting "0" for the "Roz Z" axis value when the issue appears.
* I am using an OTA on this stick.
* This issue persists through different software (SC/DCS).
* This issue has persisted through several rounds of re-seating the grip/ota, changing springs etc in the base for the X/Y axes, and firmware/software updates.
I am at my wit's end, as I use this axis for "strafe up/down" in SC the result of the issue appearing is usually me crashing into the ground.
Please help!

Here's Physical Axes - what else was needed?
Re: Intermittent issue - Gunfighter III Kosmosima Left grip - Rot Z axis
I was trying to achieve a low-output from the low end, imitating very fine control from thrusters I guess.

Re: Intermittent issue - Gunfighter III Kosmosima Left grip - Rot Z axis
The fact is that this axis, by default, has a dead zone of 10 units, not by chance. This is done to eliminate the possible inaccurate return to the center of the grip, when rotating in different directions.
As I understand it, when using OTA, the Y-axis is usually made a throttle, and this one is auxiliary. For example, target base size and range input on the P-51.
This axis can be made relative (Rel), without center (Cn), recalibrated after writing these settings, which will be more like a throttle stick.
You can do this with the Y-axis, but also remove the spring on it and tighten the damper.
I advise you to try the latest software and firmware, reset to default and calibrate.
If something is not clear on the settings of the relative axis - ask, we will try to figure it out together.

Re: Intermittent issue - Gunfighter III Kosmosima Left grip - Rot Z axis
I definitely changed this because I felt like I wanted the action to kick in sooner - are you saying you think the DZ is causing/contributing to this?
I have played with this setup before, I don't like it for Star Citizen which is my main game. I use the Y-axis as forward/reverse thrust and like it that way.
I have the latest software and firmware, and as I said in my original post this issue has persisted through several rounds of default/calibration.

In the screenshot, the last configurator and firmware, your last year.
Try these settings for the twist axis. There are several more options for setting the axis, for example, when turning to the right, one axis will work, and to the left - a completely different, virtual one.

Re: Intermittent issue - Gunfighter III Kosmosima Left grip - Rot Z axis
When accessing my local VKB website (Australia) the latest firmware is dated 11/2022 and the latest config software is v0.92.51 which I am using.
I figured since I updated the firmware and software less than 4 weeks ago I was good.
Do you have a link to where I should access this different firmware/software?
I tried the settings in your screenshot using my current software - but it has changed the behaviour of the axis in an undesired way.
Now the output is always applying maximum vertical thrust unless I rotate the stick fully left - this is not what I want.
To be clear I only want to fix the intermittent bug described in my first post, not change the behaviour of the axis.

Ok, not a question.
Reset the settings to default and check the operation of the axis.
If after that the error remains, disassemble the grip and check the cleanliness and tightness of the magnet.

Since I have reset the settings *multiple* times and had this issue persisting, I guess I will investigate the magnet. Thank you.
Re: Intermittent issue - Gunfighter III Kosmosima Left grip - Rot Z axis
Last night I disassembled the grip, removed the twist axis module and investigated the magnet. No visible dirt/grime or any other identifiable issue there. Original issue is persisting tonight - occurred twice in the last hour of gameplay.

The idea is to reset to Default and calibrate, then try again without changing any axes' values or loading a previous profile. Trying it in vanilla state would say if your issues are coming from your settings or if we should look somewhere else.
When the twist axis gets stuck do you have access to the buttons on the grip? Are the any LEDs blinking on the Black Box at that time?
