Do I have to reinstall from scratch?

What to reinstall?

I honestly couldn't remember, it was several years ago when I last and first plugged the joystick in.
So I take it everything should be taken care of by saving and carrying over the IL-2 'input' file.

VKB joysticks keep settings inside and do not need any drivers etc. You must save game settings only.
"D:\IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles\data\input\" keeps control settings. I ALWAYS advice to map joystick buttons to keystrokes. New Windows can enumerate joysticks in other sequence, than previous. In this case you will need to reassiggn controls. But axes number is about 5-6, "it's so easy... ((c) Queen)" while buttons take dozens. If they are linked to buttons, there is no need to resetup.
