Gunfighter Kg12 Grip - All Buttons Failure

Postby Tobo » Tue Jan 10, 2023 13:08

Hi

I've lost all buttons functions on my Gunfighter (this happened mid-game) and the black box red light is now flashing. X and Y axes are still working. The actions I've tried so far is to -

1. Update the VKB Config to version v0.92.51;
2. Update the Device firmware to v2.12.2
3. Check all connections are OK (USB ports and Blackbox)
4. Run ZBootloader (v2.01) on the device
5. Calibrate the joystick. I've tried this a number of times with no success.

I'm getting 2, or sometimes 3 different device versions in VKB Config - #1 KG12 New 2.17.2; #2 KG12 Old 2.17.3 and sometimes extra versions like #5 KG12 New 2.17.2. (Please see attached screenshots).

What should I do next?
Thanks in advance

Which grip do you have, the original KG12 or the latest update?

It's the latest version - Gunfighter Mk. 111 purchased in July 2022.

Release the fastener attaching the grip to base until you could move the grip, then gently press on it for better contact and hold it there while tightening the fastener. Use just your arm to press on the grip, not body force.

We have success!

Thanks very much fallout9! The grip wasn't loose or anything but I removed the fastener, lifted the grip up and (gently) reset the contact points - and the green light returned. All previous reported issues in vkb config have returned to normal and the stick has been calibrated in the usual fashion. I'm a bit surprised at myself that I didn't try this initially to solve the problem, but I did remember checking the grip before to see if there was any movement - not finding any and thinking to myself it's not the problem, it was working before and it might be a firmware problem. Happy to be proved wrong.

Again, Thanks
T

It's not about movement, it's about how deep it goes. Also, when new, the hole that metal pin on the top of the base stem gets into is a bit tight and might need a bit of force to get through it properly. Once in place is should be fine, but do check the fastener for time to time just to make sure it's tightened.
