Analog stick for looking / IL2

Postby tropikchiken » Sat Nov 26, 2022 1:32

Got a new joystick (Gladiator NXT) and am having trouble configuring the mini stick how I'd like in IL2.

I'm trying to configure it for looking around - when I set it up in IL2 it recognizes it as an axis. This works OK, except it bounces back to center when I let go. I have to keep my thumb in one position to look there.

The way I'd like it to behave is more like you'd expect in say an FPS - you move the stick in a direction and it tilts your head that way, but does not center back when you let go.

Before anyone tells me to just use head tracking, I have tried many times, and it causes me neck pain for whatever reason.

Any ideas?

Of course. Run VKBDevCfg, navigate to the Profile/Axes/Logical Axes and set the Mode for axes 5 and 6 as Rel(ative) instead of Abs(olute). Press Set to save. Then adjust the RMpl for these 2 axes to increase the speed (press Set, of course, after each try).
