VKB-SIM

Hey, Ive just bought a VKB product for the first time, the VKB Gladiator NXT EVO Left Premium. Came with base and stick, so I just assembled it according to the quick manual. Otherwise didnt do anything else. Its this model:

But when I move the stick (X/Y axis), im getting noises that sound like plastic scraping over plastic. I think it might be the grey dustcover around the stick foot scratching against the base housing, considering it gets quieter when I push it a bit down while moving the stick. Not sure tho.

Is that normal? Please help, im a bit concerned.

edit: Yes, its 100% the grey plastic dustcover. Makes noise even without the stick attached. Idk if its normal or too tight.

Thanks, that looks like something down there might be my issue. That sucks, gotta take the whole thing apart to get there?

Wonder if I should just leave it, cuz its just a light scratching noise and no limited movement. Or I could do warranty, but thats another ordeal.

I had the older VKB NXT stick and have regreased it and also fairly recently bought the EVO upgrade kit and upgraded it to the EVO model.
These sticks are pretty simple to disassemble and reassemble and they have a plethora of youtube/online tutorials in regards to a lot of the
upgrades and such to all of these sticks. It is definitely your call on what you are comfortable in doing, I will just say for me, knowing what I know of this
stick, I would try taking it apart and see if it is a fairly easy fix. I understand also that opening this up to fix or regrease parts will not void any warranty also.
Here is a tutorial I used for upgrading from NXT to EVO and you just need to watch through 2.09 on the video to get to the plastic dust shield, it looks like maybe
four phillip head screws hold it on. Only thing to be careful of is just leave the heavy grease on all the parts.

Thanks again! That does look surprisingly simple. I think ill open up the thing at some point and check whats going on.

Its still not a great thing to have with such an expensive stick, but knowing its almost certainly just some minor issue, Im a lot more relaxed.
