Hello,
I've been very happy with my Gunfighter Ultimate for the past almost year, but recently the Y axis (typically aircraft elevator function) just stopped working. I've checked windows and while the x axis and all the buttons work fine, the Y is just dead. I have the black Mk2 box. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Reflash to the latest firmware, then recalibrate and see if this fixing the issue. Don't forget to press the Default button between the 2 procedures.
Re: Gunfighter Ultimate: Y axis failure
Thanks for the reply. I did the flash procedure then tried to recalibrate, but the Y axis is not being recognized during calibration.

It is necessary to check the cleanliness of the magnet under the board (it is better to show a photo) and the reliability of fixing the magnet in the damper disk. Show tabs Profile-Axes, Test-External Devices.

Re: Gunfighter Ultimate: Y axis failure
Sounds to me like a loose wire or connector. Checking for that involves some minor disassembly but nothing too crazy. You'll have to remove the grip, bottom plate and separate the gimbal from the housing. Check the little white wire connectors that go on the PCBs coming from the gimbal. Pull them gently off--not by the wires. Once you have them off, wiggle the wires in the connector and make sure they don't pull out. They're small and fairly fragile but they should feel like they're seated in the connector. If one pulls out easily that is likely the source of your problem. Pay attention to how the metal end on the wire goes into the connector and plug it back in. I'd say you'll hear a click but it's so small you'll probably feel it. Once it's clicked in it shouldn't feel like it's going to come out. Plug the connector back into the PCB and see what happens.
I used this example as several of us that have had the sticks a long time have had this happen after a while. We move the sticks back and forth a lot so these connectors wiggle loose. The fix is fairly easy. Other less common things that could be a problem are a broken wire--which is a bit harder to track down. Other problems involve the magnets like Ron61 says. Sometimes they've come loose and so don't move and that movement is what the sensor is looking for.
If you've flashed, defaulted and calibrated and get no movement I'd take a look at these things if it were me. Keep in mind I don't work for VKB, I'm just a stick owner like you trying to help.

Re: Gunfighter Ultimate: Y axis failure
Thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately, i checked all the wires and they seem to be good. I also looked at what i think are the magnets and they looked pretty clean. Still nothing on the Y axis.
Re: Gunfighter Ultimate: Y axis failure
Tried all i can at this point and at a total loss. The Y axis just will not work. Any other ideas? The magnet on that axis does not stick out as much as the other axis. Is this normal or part of the problem?

Re: Gunfighter Ultimate: Y axis failure
Could you post some pictures with the magnet (board off), then with the space between the magnet and the board/sensor? We could definitely send you a new board, but just want to make sure that's what you need.

Here are a few pics with the board installed and then removed.

I do not see an LED on the PCB. There is a green and a red LED on the black box.
