MCG Pro - MANVR hat stopped working

Postby AstroNomad » Mon Oct 31, 2022 22:17

As the title says, the lower-central hat on my MCG Pro has stopped working. It gives no input in three directions, and only intermittent input towards buttons 16 and 18 in the default configuration (down and push).

I tried updating to latest firmware; reseating the grip and the extension; as well as removing the plastic cap from the hat and trying inputs directly on the metal stem -- no luck.

From the outside I see no visible damage with the cap removed. What are my next steps, and what should I look for in disassembly? I assume the PCB lines and soldering?

Have you pressed the Default button before calibrating?

Yes, tried "Default" and recalibration several times.

Button press "down" and "center-push" both register as button 18 in the default configuration, and only do so intermittently. The others are even more useless. This is highly certainly a hardware issue.

Is that hat switch on a separate PCB? I can check the cables to it, but probably cannot do much with the soldering.

Fill up a service ticket with your local vendor please; it should be an easy fix, as that hat switch has its own board.
