MCG Ultimate POV Button Switching

Postby DOMlNO » Mon Aug 29, 2022 19:54

I have my POV hat setup as shown in the attached image so I can use it for trim in DCS. The problem is if I go too far in one direction for it changes button #'s. This happens in every direction except up.

Example: Hat up... button 122, hat slightly down... button 124, too far down button 122.

Is there any way to fix this?

Show the Profile-Axes tab.

I see 5 uncalibrated axes (two microsticks and a trigger axis). Until they are calibrated, there can be no question of any correct operation. Fix it first, then it will work.

I appreciate you trying to help.

Could you be a little more specific? I've calibrated the stick per the instructions, is there another calibration I need to do to use the Hat switch? I don't even see what you are talking about on the screenshot I sent. Can you point it out to me?

Everything else works great, so can you just help me get the POV switch working, not even sure what axis that is? Looks like it's set to be a button?

The values in your chart shows that no ministicks on the grip have been calibrated. If you have replaced any ministicks with the HAT switches there's no need for calibration, but if there's any ministick left on your grip you'll have to calibrate it; also, make sure it's in analog/axes mode while calibrating it and not it digital/POV. And yes, even if you're using it mainly in digital mode, it still has to get properly calibrated in order to work consistently.
Please follow this guide to calibrate your device.

Followed the video you sent, and the Hat switch is not seen as an axis so can't be calibrated. Can you PLEASE just treat me like I'm an 8 year old and tell me exactly what to do? You are giving me generalization that don't seem to have anything to do with the problem. If I need to calibrate the hat switch great, PLEASE just tell me how to do that. The video did not work.

Alright, let's go step by step: have you replaced any ministicks with HAT switches on your grip? If yes, which one? Also, how's the ministick you refer to labeled on the grip (Master Mode or Gate Cont)?

I didn't replace any of them. It's the 'China Hat' thing. It's labeled Master Mode on the stick itself. I ended up setting the stick back to defaults, did the calibration (the china hat was still not seen as an axis but I twirled it around anyway), reset it back to button mode like shown in the very first screenshot, and now it seems to be working.

Thanks for your help, I think I'm ok now.
