Double press to latch button state
Is there a way to make double pressing a button latch that button in an activated state (aka double click to toggle)? The button should return to normal mode if it is pressed again. I fly a lot of elite dangerous and use the cargo scoop as a brake and as a cargo scoop. I would like to be able to press a button to open the cargo scoop as long as I hold the button (brake mode), and be able to double press the same button to toggle (latch) the button to an on state so that the cargo scoop stays open until the button is pressed again (cargo scoop mode).

Re: Double press to latch button state
Instructions not clear, my brain hurts
) If you use the cargo hatch for braking why not have a single button assign to it? As far as I know, there's no other way to brake in E:D.

Re: Double press to latch button state
I want the cargo scoop to be both a momentary (momentary brake in combat, only open while I hold the button), and a toggle (double press to leave it open, I don't want to hold the scoop open when mining or scooping materials), I can do this in the VKB software on two different buttons (one is a toggle, one a momentary both controlling the same output). I would like to do this on one button. Is that any clearer?

Re: Double press to latch button state
I don't think E:D will make the distinction between a permanent pressed button and a momentary press. But if you could overcome this, then try Tempo - Tempo3 and Tempo3A; leave the first button unassigned and map the double click and the permanent hold to the same button.
Re: Double press to latch button state
E.D. allows you to change the "Button Mode" for the Cargo scoop, and the Flight assist Off. Both can be set as "Toggle", and "Hold". I have the cargo scoop set to "hold" in E.D. I will try experimenting with the Temp options.

Re: Double press to latch button state
Let me know how it went. Lost hope for E:D, but still get back from time to time.
Re: Double press to latch button state
I finally got it.
I had to set Physical button #3, to Tempo3A leaving row 1 & 2 as no function and assign row three to output button 8. This gave me the double click to hold the output on.
I then set an unused input to RPB (Replica of physical button) replicating physical button #3, which I also set the output to button 8. This gave me the normal button functionality.
So now the button behaves normally until I rapidly double click it at which point it will stay on until it is clicked again. Thanks for the ideas.

Interesting, saving this for next time when I'll get into E:D.
