Hello,
I have posted this on reddit and got redirected here.
I have recently purchased new Gladiator NXT right premium, I'm in Europe, waited for it for very long, but finally it came this week. I assembled it carefuly following instructions to try it out, and I noticed some issues with roll axis, but I thought this is perhaps because I didn't do any adjustments, just put the grip into the base and give it a go. Yesterday I unscrewed the bottom plate to see if I can do any adjustments and then realised my base unit is likely to have some production issues that cannot get fixed and is a faulty unit.
1. Roll axis does not work in symetrical way. What I mean by that is if you tilt the grip to the right side the grip moves in linear way until it touches the side of the base. If you tilt it to the left, before it touches the side you feel increasing force just near the left side of the base that prevents you from touching it. It feels like something prevents the full motion to the left. You can touch the side only by applying additional force, but it feels unpleasant, and in general left roll feels non linear, and entire roll axis has asymetrical feel. I have played around with roll axis dampening screw, even if removed entirely, the issue is still there. Cables inside have enough margin, they are not being pulled in any direction or preventing the motion. I've recorded a video to demonstrate the issue: https://streamable.com/a22e7l
2. Another issue is one of the pitch axis dampening adjustment screws (there are two) had broken thread, it was quite lose, when I wanted to tighten it sligtly I noticed it never stops as oppose to other pitch and roll adjustment screws.
Please advice

Open up the base please and do the same as in previous one, this time showing the internal. It would be great to have good light and focus on it.

The video is upside down, but I hope it's clear which side has an issue.
Also looking from that perspective, the dampening screw with broken thread is the right one (pich axis), not going to demonstrate it, but it's obvious, it just rotates clockwise

Please let me know if this is enough or should I focus on anything specific here

You should pay attention to such a moment - but could something extraneous get under the gray plate covering the mechanism during assembly? It makes noise when turned upside down. Try disassembling the assembly to test this guess. Perhaps not everything is so scary.

As mentioned in the first post I am in Europe.

Nothing got anywhere. It's a brand new device assembled as it is supposed to be. I only mounted the grip with three screwes, plugged the cable and mounted the bottom plate. I hear very well it makes noises uspide down, I am not going to investigate that on my own as this is a brand new device that should have no failures out of the box.

Our products are user serviceable and taking it apart won't void the warranty. If you're not comfortable with opening it up please arrange a return with the local rep.

Re: Out of the box Gladiator NXT Evo roll axis issue
Perhaps there is no problem. When calibrating, you need to move the grip to the extreme points that are convenient for you. And there is no need to overpower the springs and mechanics in extreme, boundary positions. Moreover, the controller allows you to make non-equivalent zones for each axis. For example, for the Y axis, during calibration, you can move the grip away from you by 3 cm from the center, and towards yourself - until the mechanics stop.
As a result, the entire range will be selected, from 0 to 65535, but the stroke of the knob will be different in each direction to reach the extreme numbers.

Thank you Ron for replying.
I understand how calibrating works, and I have no issue with the digital range of the axis. I have an issue with physical range and physical feel to the grip. When hitting right max, you feel hard stop on the grip on the side of the base. When hitting left "max" it softly dampens due to that weird resistance that stops it a few milimeter before hitting base side. So its not the issue with digital range, its how the grip feels. Also this missing 1-1.5mm may seem insignificant at the bottom, but at the top of the grip thats like .5cm of a difference.
If I didn't care about how grip feels I would go after Logitech, but reading opinions on hotas reddit, I wanted to spend extra for that premium control and feel. So this kind of physical asymetry feels unacceptable for me.
And there is that broken thread of dampening screw on the pitch axis, and I promise you I know how to handle screws and bolts, it just came like this out of the box.
I understand this must be rare combo, but this is what I got
The best resolution would be exchange for a new base unit.
...and the issue is:
The gimbal hits the bottom "grey" cover plate when tilting grip to the left. Looked at it closely today. You can see the marks on the plate cover and on the gimbal. I can see and hear how it touches it

Re: Out of the box Gladiator NXT Evo roll axis issue
Hello!
I have the same issue. My conclusion also was that the gimbal hit the gray dust protector before reaching the hard limit. (Only when stick is moved left).
Is there any customer friendly way to remedy the situation?

Looks like that's the conclusion for this issue; please fill up a service ticket.

I have the same problem and I have already submitted a support ticket. Is there an easy way to remedy this at home?

Re: Out of the box Gladiator NXT Evo roll axis issue
Yes, you could use a cutter or a X-Acto knife to cut the margins of the grey plate so the gimbal could fit into the cutout.
