I have an SCG kosmosima on gunfighter MKIII base, approx 3 weeks old. The Z axis twist output stops at 30950 rather than center when twisted to the left, whereas from the right returns normally (although it is a bit sticky/slow).
Physically, however, relaxing from both directions appears to find the same position, (judged by feel and by eye). Maybe an issue with the sensor?
Any idea what could be causing this?

First of all make sure it's properly calibrated, like here (from timestamp). Then see if the dust cover is not rubbing against the grip; if so, push it deeper down the base metal stem.
The twist would also need to see some use, so the factory grease would settle.

Thanks for the fast reply. The stick is fully calibrated, and I'm using the omni throttle adapter so the dust cover is not rubbing.
For now I've set a larger deadzone (5), and will give a bit more time to break in to see if that fixes it.

Re: SCG Kosmosima Z-axis twist not returning to center
Okay, so I've been using the stick for a couple of months now and nothing has changed with the twist return to center.
Turn left and release, centers nicely (pic 1). Turn right and release, stops significantly short of center. It also returns to center more slowly from the right, and feels stickier.
This is a bit frustrating as I use the Z axis for roll in space sims and am losing some fine control.
Is it possible grease has been applied to the twist mechanism unevenly?

In the screenshots you posted the joystick is in bootloader mode, like it's prepared for flashing. This is no way to use the joystick because it simply won't work.
Please flash it to the latest firmware following this guide, then calibrate it following this guide. Don't skip any steps.
Please post some pics taken at the level of the dust cover, showing the grip seated on the base.

No idea how it got into this mode, restarting the software returned it to normal, v2.090 Mk2.
I'm using the omni throttle adapter, so no dust cover to interfere with the twist.

Re: SCG Kosmosima Z-axis twist not returning to center
I suggest to flash to latest firmware, reset to default and calibrate, then try again. Any change?
Re: SCG Kosmosima Z-axis twist not returning to center
Have just flashed, reset and calibrated with no change to the twist behavior. Like I say, it feels like a problem with the twist mechanism rather than a software issue.

Check on the rusk, see if it's all the way inside the grip; if it's not in proper position the grip might grind against it while using twist.
Re: SCG Kosmosima Z-axis twist not returning to center
It appears to be seated correctly, and I can't see anything external that is interfering with the twist mechanism

Open up the grip please and post some pictures with the internals. There's a board that sits close to the top of the twist module, need to check around that area.
This video would help, just go for the first 44 seconds.

Here are some pictures, please let me know if you need others, I'm not sure exactly what you need. Thanks!

Sorry, somehow I lost track of your post . The 3 wires seem a bit mangled, please inspect them closely for any interruptions. Do you also have problems with the buttons too, or twist only?
