Rot Z Axis Jittering

Postby ActesState71 » Sun Mar 20, 2022 7:05

I have been flying with the NXT R premium for about 2 months without issue when suddenly while flying the Rot Z axis I use for rudder control started to jitter. The axis will "bounce" around not staying centered at all and sometimes will even bounce from the 5000 range all the way up to the 50000 range without me putting in any input making any aircraft impossible to control.

I learned that the joystick was calibrated on windows so I opened the VKB device config and re flashed with "_Gladiator_NXT_v2_09_3.vkb" and then followed the prompts to remove the windows calibration and then recalibrated the stick with VKB. This has not worked and I am not sure how to fix the issue moving forward.

Delete all the VKB files from the hard drive, make sure the Windows calibration has been erased and follow this guide step by step.

Got all of that done. Still no luck. Is it possible its a magnet issue in the stick itself? As when I rotate the stick I can get to zero on the left but can not achieve 65000 on the right.

Update.

The issue is fixed. It was in fact a magnet issue in the stick itself. the plastic piece that the magnet sits in on top of the spring came loose and was not seated correctly.

This is the video that assisted me in identifying the problem and I was able to realized that magnet housing in the stick was loose and not seated correctly. Thanks for the help! Just to note that after disassembly and re assembly re calibrate the stick to re center the Rot Z axis before putting in any input or it will give the impression of not working.
